Every religion possesses its own attributes, like anthems, prayers, this or that language to pray with. One of the hymns that are most popular among Christians is “Amazing Grace” by John Newton. The words of the hymn were written at the end of 18th century, but the song continues to be popular up to now. It is performed almost 10 million times annually among the English-speaking people all over the world.
A very interesting fact about “Amazing Grace” is that it did save (probably it even didn’t have) any melody from the time it was created. Over 20 tunes had been tried for this song until in 1835 the “New Britain” melody became the most usual way to perform the hymn.
Our upcoming movie features a famous Irish male singing team called Celtic Thunder performing the perpetuated hymn a capella. Their amazing voices are nothing but the most righteous way this song has to be done.
There were so many performances of “Amazing Grace” by world-famous singers, but this one is especially prominent with the voices and manner. Please, share this beautiful video with your friends.
