As believers, we have an active and powerful enemy. He will not stop ruining God’s plans.
He will make attacks, create obstacles, as well as arrange distractions and challenges to stop you. It is the reason why we should always be alert and ready for spiritual warfare. According to the Bible, we are in a constant wrestle as believers.
For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Eph 6:12
Now, we have established the fact that there is a warfare; thus, how we should defend ourselves? Here are fifteen spiritual warfare scriptures that may help you with this.
No weapon that is formed against you will prosper; and every tongue that accuses you in judgment you will condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their vindication is from Me,” declares the Lord. Is. 54:17
This scripture is appropriate for moments in life when it looks like there is a conspiracy against you. Simply begin to pray and confess it over that time, and everything will become better.
Truly I tell you, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven. Again, truly I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything they ask for, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven. Matt. 18:18–19
You are from God, little children, and have overcome them; because greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world. 1 John 4:4
As a child of God, the scripture reveals that you have a different paternity. You hail from God and carry his genetic makeup. As such, it doesn’t really matter who has decided to come against you.
Whether it is an individual, system, organization, or group, you have already overcome them because the greater one lives in you!
Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called when you made your good confession in the presence of many witnesses. 1 Tim. 6:12
The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ. 2 Cor. 10:4–5
When we talk about spiritual warfare, there are believers who are quick to assume that one person or group of them is responsible for all their woes and misfortunes. The scripture above alludes to the fact that the weapons we fight with are not carnal in nature. It simply tells us that the enemy we are fighting isn’t carnal too.
In other words, your boss at work isn’t the enemy, and your spouse isn’t the evil person too.
What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who is against us? Rom. 8:31
No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it. 1 Cor. 10:13
For those going through difficult times, it is one of the most assuring scriptures. When you feel upset because of the circumstances surrounding your current existence, it’s a breath of fresh air to know you are not the first to go through that.
It is even better to know that no matter how much it hurts right now, you are able to scale through and come out victoriously because it is not beyond your ability.
Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous! Do not tremble or be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go. Josh. 1:9
Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’ says the Lord of hosts. Zech. 4:6
If you have ever found yourself in a spot in life where everything looked bad, please check this scripture.
In life, there is a time where our strength and might fail us. But these scriptures may help us to raise.
But they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint. Is. 40:31
I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world. John 16:33
In all these things, we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. Rom. 8:37
When you think that your life is complicated, remember scriptures like this.
He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust. Surely he will save you from the fowler’s snare and from the deadly pestilence. He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart… Ps. 91:1–4
Behold, I have given you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall hurt you. Luke 10:19
When in danger of any kind, this is your scripture of defense and assurance. Serpents and scorpions represent Satan and all his strategies and fiery darts.
No matter what, be rest assured that God has given you authority over the enemy and all his moves. Thus, nothing shall by any means hurt or affect you in Jesus name.
Arm yourself with these scriptures at all times, and you can be sure to handle life challenges manfully and come out victoriously. Always remember that you don’t have to wait till you are in trouble before you remember these scriptures. They can become your daily companion.
