After checking the puppy, several veterinarians said that she suffered from serious congenital problems, and that her life expectancy was reduced. Sassy would live at most 3 years with some serious issues.
But to everyone’s surprise, Sassy has just turned 4 and is doing better than ever.
Sassy is pure-bred, but because of a flaw in her genetics, she born with dwarfism. She measures only 1/4 of what a normal Pitbull should measure.
Her paws have some deformities and the tongue does not fit inside her mouth. But even so, she does not stop living happily with her human family and other dogs.
Sassy could undergo some surgeries, but the family chose to give the most comfortable life as possible to her.
Sassy cannot bark, but she knocks her jaws to ask for what she wants.
What leaves everyone amazed is that despite the serious problems she has, she does not seem to care, and is very kind to everybody.
Sassy had been delivered to a shelter because of her illness, and would be sacrificed. But Ernie and his family rushed to adopt her as soon they heard about it.
Once again, another story with a happy ending! We hope that more people get touched by this story and follow its example.
