Krystal Kramer is a waitress at two Pizza Hut restaurants in Somerset County, Penn. Not so long ago, her life changed a lot, and she became practically homeless because the apartment she lived in flooded, and after that, it was impossible for her to rent a new one.
So Krystal and her roommate moved into a hotel after they received donations from the Red Cross. Soon, the money ran out, and she had no place to live.
Nobody at work knew about her situation until one day when two men came to Pizza Hut. They ordered too much food and offered Krystal’s co-worker their leftovers. The girl refused, but Krystal overheard the conversation and was happy to take it.
“I was like yeah, I’m homeless. I don’t know where I’ll eat tonight. I’ll say yes.”
It was the turning point that changed her life. A few minutes later Krystal was already in another corner of the restaurant, doing her job and something incredible happened.
“I’m over in my area cleaning. The waitress calls me over. She has her tip and then she says, ‘This is for me and this is for you’. It was a tip for $558.33 on a credit card. I couldn’t believe it,” said Kramer.
It was enough for her first-month rent, and now that girl has her place to live. Also, after the news about Kramer spread around, the Pizza Hut administration organized a fund where they were helping the girl with accommodation.
“That tip absolutely changed my life,” says Kramer.
