Once again, Prince William and his wife, Kate Middleton have captured the attention of millions around the world after it was revealed that the couple is expecting their first child. But as it turned out, things have not really been smooth sailing for the pregnant Duchess of Cambridge.
Prince William, at a conference, revealed they were hoping this difficult phase would be over soon. He said:
We just need Catherine to get over this first bit, then we can start celebrating next week.
From his words, it was deduced that Kate must be 11 weeks along since it is usually around the 12th week marking that most pregnancy risks have been passed and friends and family can be informed about the new bun in the oven.
The Duke of Cambridge mentioned that his wife’s pregnancy is a great news for the whole family but added:
It’s always a bit anxious to start with, but she’s well.
Prince William was alluding to the extreme form of morning sickness which Kate suffered in her previous two pregnancies. The condition, known as Hyperemesis Gravidarum often occurs during the first trimester of pregnancy.
This time around, the condition was so severe that the Duchess of Cambridge had no choice but to cancel a scheduled event to a children’s charity in London.
She is, however, hopeful, that she will be well enough in no time.
Have you see that?
